Through the Murnauer Moos
This is a very popular tour for racing bikes, leading through the nature reserve “Eschenloher und Murnauer Moos”. Enjoy the tranquility of this nearly untouched region.
From the station’s main entrance cross the town hall intersection to the Partenkirchen part of town. Behind the church Sebastianskircherl turn left onto Münchnerstraße, following it until you leave the town in the direction of Farchant. Just behind the bridge over the Loisach River, before reaching Farchant, turn sharply to the right onto the footpath. “Am Wehr” you will turn right once again, and take Mühldörflstraße across the Loisach River bridge and then turn left onto Frickenstraße. At the end of the street turn right and cross the cattle grid, and then cycle through the Föhrenheide to Oberau. From here you will cross the bridge and take the state road B2 to Eschenlohe. Be careful: Do not stay on the B2 but rather cycle right through Eschenlohe! If you stay on the B2 you have to go through two dark tunnels. In Eschenlohe, follow Garmischer Straße and turn left at the large bridge. Follow the course of the road to the “Alter Wirt”. Behind the restaurant turn left onto Michael-Fischer-Straße, cross the B2 and pass below the motorway. On the rural road Eschenlohe-Schwaigen turn off to the right at the junction towards the Eschenloher Moos. Take this street along the edge of the forest to the village Grafenaschau. At its end, at the bridge Lindachbrücke, turn right to the Murnauer Moos, along the Lindach and Ramsach streams, through the nature reserve to the small church Ramsacher Kircherl at Murnau’s southern slope. From there, take the B2 back to Eschenlohe and Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
