His name is Loisl and he is the new digital holiday companion of the Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol. It is a progressive web app, a homepage that works similar to an app. It offers comprehensive tourist information on the cross-border region - tailored to the interests and length of stay of the guest.
When is the next bus from Grainau to Ehrwald? What is going on in Lermoos tonight? How will the weather be tomorrow? And which hiking tour would be suitable? If the guest wants answers, up to now it was necessary to browse through numerous websites. Now it's becoming more convenient: Whether on laptop, smartphone or tablet: The Loisl bundles the tourist information of the region and displays it individually to the guest according to his specifications. "With Loisl, we want to provide our guests with a holiday assistant," explains Alexandra Ertner-Albrecht, head of guest registration in Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
"The holiday assistant summarizes all relevant information and offers about the Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol on one page. This way we can inspire the tourists and show them our beautiful region."

How does the guest receive Loisl? Very simple: After the binding booking of an accommodation and the issuing of the guest card by the host, the guest receives a welcome email including a link to the service. It is designed as a progressive web app, i.e. a program on the net that does not have to be downloaded to the end device, but still remembers the desired information for the guest. This means that you do not "waste" any memory space on your own device and the app works on all devices, regardless of brand and operating system.

The guest creates his personal access online, assigns a password and sets up his profile. Different filters query his holiday interests. The personalised holiday assistant can use this as a basis for providing guests with all the information they need about their holiday in the Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol. Already two weeks before the start of the journey, the guest knows what is going on in the region during his holiday. If he wishes, he can create a personal list of activities right now so that he doesn't miss anything later on site. "In addition, with Loisl you can also take a piece of your holiday home with you. And when the guest visits us again, his personalized assistant is already waiting for him," says Ertner-Albrecht with pleasure.

The use of Loisl is data protection compliant and voluntary, the guest does not have to follow the link in the welcome mail.

The service is part of Funding programme of the Interreg programme Austria-Bavaria to support cross-border cooperation - hence its name: Loisl comes from the river flowing through all three regions of the Zugspitz Arena Bayern-Tirol: the Loisach. It springs in the Tyrolean Zugspitz Arena and runs through the Zugspitz village of Grainau and Garmisch-Partenkirchen on its way towards the Isar.
