    1936 – a year in which sports history was written. 17 competitions, 28 participating countries and 646 athletes. The fourth Olympic Winter Games were a true spectacle. The location: beautiful Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The ski jump on the Gudiberg and the Olympic bobsleigh run near Lake Riessersee are still impressive attractions in the mountains of Bavaria.     Don’t be surprised if you start feeling a little out of breath. That’s what happens when you stand facing the ski jump for the first time. In awe of the courage of the athletes who dare to jump down while trying to defy gravity. Or when you stand in front of the curvy bobsleigh run that used to be known as the most dangerous in the world for a long time. At the Olympia Adventure World in the Bavarian Alps, everything revolves around courage, drive, perspective, time, adrenaline and distance. Authenticity and emotion that become palpable.

    • When: Saturdays at 15:00; from May to mid-October on Wednesdays at 18:00 as well
    • Prices: Adults: EUR 12; Students, holiday guests with GaPaCard and visitor’s card holders Grainau, Farchant, Oberau, Eschenlohe: EUR 10; kids and youths (6 to 15 years of age): EUR 7

    Olympic feeling year-round

    The Adventure World in the Alps is worth an excursion year-round! Stop by when Garmisch-Partenkirchen holds its famous “Neujahrsspringen” (New Year’s Jumping) as part of the Four Hills Tournament.

    You feel more comfortable with solid ground under your feet than up in lofty heights? Then you should hike along the bobsleigh run at Lake Riessersee in summer and visit the bobshed. Or how about both? One thing’s for sure: The Olympia Adventure World will have you in awe!
