Running Platon – the athletic way to experience the Philosophenweg
This running trail leads you above Partenkirchen and through a very old pine forest along with beautiful views over the valley and the Mountain Ranges of the Waxenstein, Wetterstein and Zugspitze.
From your starting point, you can choose between two routes. The trail to the St.-Anton facilities is quite short (approx. 20 minutes) but very beautiful. There, you can run along the information path that elucidates the respiratory tract below deciduous trees that are hundreds of years old as well as along murmuring streams. Here, 13 information boards describe how you can strengthen your respiratory tract via breathing exercises. After these exercises, you will feel that you can breathe more freely and more deeply. The other trail is longer and leads to Farchant. Along this trail, you will find numerous benches with quotes from philosophers inviting you to philosophise. You can extend your run on the trail into Farchant if you like. For example, you might turn right at the chapel to the forest information path, which is a special tip for families: Here, there is much to discover and to learn about nature for the young and old.
